How do I create a new trip?
Tap the "+" button on the main screen, enter your trip details like name and participants, then save. You can start adding expenses immediately.
How does CloudKit sync work?
Your data automatically syncs across all your iOS devices using your iCloud account. Make sure you're signed in to iCloud and have an internet connection for the initial sync.
What's the difference between Free and Premium?
The Free version allows 1 trip with up to 5 expenses. Premium ($1.99/year) offers unlimited trips and expenses, plus professional CSV export features.
How do I export my data as CSV?
CSV export is available in the Premium version. Go to your trip, tap the share button, and select "Export CSV" to generate comprehensive reports with transactions and settlement recommendations.
Can I use the app offline?
Yes! Bill Splitzer is designed offline-first. You can add expenses and manage trips anywhere without internet. Data syncs automatically when you reconnect.
How are settlement recommendations calculated?
Our smart algorithm calculates the minimum number of transactions needed to settle all debts fairly. It shows you exactly who should pay whom and how much.
Is my data private and secure?
Absolutely. Your data stays in your personal iCloud database. We never see or store your expense information on our servers.
How do I change the app language?
Bill Splitzer automatically uses your iOS device language setting. Change your device language in Settings > General > Language & Region.
What devices are supported?
Bill Splitzer requires iOS 15.0 or later and works on iPhone and iPad. An iCloud account is required for sync functionality.
How do I restore my Premium subscription?
Go to Settings within the app and tap "Restore Purchases". This will restore any previous Premium subscriptions linked to your Apple ID.
